THERMACULTURE®
TO THE PEOPLE
From the creators of the 612 Sauna Society and the Great Northern Sauna Village, we are North America’s leading thermic bathing guide, here to help you relieve stress, deepen calm, and connect.
“Thermaculture is a way to transform your sauna habit into a wellness practice that’s more effective than yoga, meditation, or microdosing.”
- John Pederson, Thermaculture Founder
Why It Works
Thermaculture works because it speaks the native language of your nervous system. When you move through heat → cool → rest with awareness, you’re engaging a biological rhythm far older than any modern wellness trend — a rhythm humans all over the world discovered long before they could explain it.
It works because it follows the pattern every thermic tradition has relied on: offer the body intensity, offer it relief, and give it time to reorganize itself. Over time, this rhythm slowly reconditions how your nervous system responds to intensity.
Instead of automatically defaulting to fight-or-flight, your system learns to stay open, steady, and receptive — even in moments of challenge. This refinement is what opens the door to deeper states of sustained energy, clarity, and ease—not as a performance, not as a stress test, but as a doorway into states of wellbeing that are already available inside you.
Who it's for

Our Story
What began in 2018 as a modest weekly sauna gathering at the Hewing Hotel — led by 612 Sauna Society founder — quickly evolved into something more. Gentle guided steam, aromatherapy, breathwork, and mindful silence revealed a deeper potential.
Over time, founder John Pederson and the Thermaculture Guides refined the ritual into a practice that unlocks the same relaxed clarity and inner calm found in the world’s oldest bathing traditions — from Finnish saunas and Japanese onsens to Native American sweat lodges.
Thermaculture isn’t just a sauna night — it’s a full-body, full-mind reset. It’s for anyone seeking stress relief, deeper sleep, mental clarity, or simply a pause from the daily grind. Beginners are welcome; experienced sauna-lovers can deepen their practice.
Join us to reset your nervous system and claim your birthright to deeper states of joyful peace — one breath, one steam, one plunge at a time.
See you on the bench.
